YUKON SERIES

Her most recent project centered
on a tiny mining town in the centre of the Yukon where she worked at the age of 17 in a silver mill.  Returning to that location - Keno City, Yukon in the summer of 2008,  Stella used video, photography and painting to document how the area and her relationship to it had changed.  The video documents an authentic personal history alongside the history of a remote northern town.

PAINTING THE LONGEST DAY
Stella Walker in the Yukon
Concert, Art Show, Video Screening
This event was took place on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 at the Women's Art Gallery, 23 Prince Arthur Avenue, Toronto.

Stella's  series of paintings based on her trip to the North, and primarily the summer solstice,  was warmly received.  The landscapes are now in the homes of like-minded collectors.

A rough cut of her documentary was screened and there was much hilarity and mirth as Stella, Marie Gogo and Nancy White entertained, accompanied by Brahm Goldhamer at the piano.

Stella is currently completing the video,  and contemplating a catalogue of the Yukon paintings.

The following are images from Painting the Longest Day, Stella Walker in the Yukon.
